Hungry between meals?

The 4pm hole is not a willpower problem. It is usually a lunch problem.

The corner of a desk in the late afternoon: an opened pot of yoghurt, a bowl of almonds with a few spilled on the table, a bitten apple, an open notebook and a mug.

Snacks that actually fill you up

Aim for protein or fiber: Greek yogurt or cottage cheese, a hard-boiled egg, a fruit with a handful of almonds, veggie sticks with hummus.

They keep you full for 100–200 kcal — and count toward your daily protein.

Why sweets don’t fill you up

Cookies, bars and juices digest fast: hunger returns within the hour, often stronger.

Nothing is forbidden — but if the craving hits at the same time every day, the previous meal is lacking protein or fiber.

Real hunger or a craving?

Drink a large glass of water and wait ten minutes: thirst often disguises itself as hunger.

Real hunger accepts any food; a craving only wants THAT pack of cookies. Both can be managed — but not with the same answer.
