Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we get most often. If yours is not here, write to us — and it will end up here.

How accurate is it really?

Camaleo estimates from a photo, and says so everywhere. It is built to track your TREND reliably, not to replace a DEXA scan. Same pose, same light, same time of day is what makes the curve meaningful — and the curve is the part that actually helps you.

What do I get for free?

Your first full scan, revealed in full — nothing blurred, no fake countdown. Your calorie and macro target. Manual food logging, the recipe and exercise libraries, and one complete workout. Camaleo Pro unlocks unlimited scans, the full history and curves, the before/after comparison, the complete training plan and the meal planning tools.

Do I need an account?

No. The app is fully usable with no account and no server: everything is stored on your device. An account only adds sync across your devices.

Where do my photos go?

They stay on your device by default. A photo leaves it only for the length of an analysis, and is not kept afterwards. Sync is something you switch on explicitly, and you can erase everything at any time.

How do I cancel?

From your Apple or Google account settings, at any time — the same place you manage every other subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Is this a medical device?

No. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything and is not medical advice. If you have a health condition, talk to a professional.

How do I delete my account and my data?

From the app: Account → Delete my account. Everything held online goes with it, without going through us. To wipe only the device without touching the account, Settings → Reset everything.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. The food log, recipes, workouts and history live on your device and stay usable offline. Only photo analysis and sync need the network.

My scan was rejected — why?

The analysis is allowed to refuse a photo, and it says which reason applies: incomplete framing, too little light, clothing hiding the area. That is deliberate — inventing a score from an unreadable photo would be worse than refusing. Retake it full-body, facing the camera, in even light.

The verification code never arrives.

Check your spam folder first: that is the cause in the vast majority of cases. The code is valid for about thirty minutes, and the verification screen lets you request another. If it still does not arrive, write to us from the address concerned.

My steps are not showing.

Steps are READ from Health Connect, on Android only, and Camaleo never writes to it. Health Connect is not a pedometer: it measures nothing itself, it receives what other apps write into it. Installed, allowed and empty, it returns no steps — you need an app that puts them there, such as your phone’s own.

Can I change the language?

Camaleo exists in seven languages, set in Settings → Language, independently of your phone’s. Text already produced by an analysis keeps the language it had at the time of the scan.

Is the app available on iPhone?

Camaleo is on Android today. The iOS version is in preparation, with no announced date — better to promise nothing than to announce a date we would not keep.
